BANGALORE: The Indian Model United Nations 2007 (INMUN) was held recently at New Delhi. Many students from 110 Indian and foreign schools participated in the conference as “delegates” of the various member nations of the United Nations (UN). Four students of Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, presented themselves as delegates from Sudan, while four others from the IGCSE stream represented Iceland. Priyanka from Class XI participated as a reporter for the “world press” that covered the proceedings of various sessions during the “conference”. The delegations were given different agendas and topics on which they presented speeches. The event was a true learning experience for the students, who donned the roles of diplomats and discussed various world issues, prepared policies and resolution, ensuring peace and prosperity amongst nations. The delegates were appreciated for their knowledge and presentation at the valedictory function. The conference gave an opportunity for students to know the social background of various nations around the globe. Orientation programmeTeachers of Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra, Arakere Layout, attended a three-day orientation programme at Dharwad recently. Resource persons Shashikala Deshpande and C.C. Dixit spoke on the recent developments in the field of education and covered various topics such as counselling, developing Indian etiquettes, developing life skills and talents. THE HINDU NIE TEAM
