Jaish ‘commander’ killed in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: A “commander” of the Jaish-e-Mohammad was killed in an encounter with security forces in Bandipora district of Kashmir on Tuesday.
On a tip-off, police and troops of the 57 Rashtriya Rifles launched a cordon and search operation at Chakrishipura.
Amanullah Bukhari alias Zangi Chacha, a resident of Gujranwala Pakistan, hid in a house and opened fire on the troops.
The security forces returned the fire and later the Jaish “commander” was found killed, police said. One AK rifle, two magazines and 29 rounds were recovered from the possession of the slain militant. — PTI
