Two more institutes soon
The capital is set to become a major hub of educational research in the country. Close on the heels of the proposal to set up the Indian Institute of Space Technology, two more projects have been announced. These include the Ayurveda University and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research that was cleared by the Union government last week.
Educationists feel that the diversity of subjects offered by the three national institutes would help wean away a large number of students from the IT and BPO sectors to basic science.
They expect universities and colleges all over the State to benefit from the presence of the premier research centres.
