ANANTAPUR: A procession was taken out to commemorate 150 years of first - independence struggle of the country here on Tuesday to express solidarity, to inculcate patriotism and to create a sense of national integration among the people, particularly the youth. The procession was flagged off by Zilla Parishad chairperson T. Kavitha at Arts College. Speaking on the occasion she said the youth should work for the betterment of the society by drawing inspiration from the independence struggle. The sacrifices of the leaders were recalled on the occasion. Mayor R. Parasuram and a host of district officers and others participated.
