University ties up with tractor firm

Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has signed an MoU with Chennai-based tractor company -Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), to advance industry-academia interface and research.

This cooperation is a part of forging industry-institute interaction between the research scholars, faculty members and professionals on specific academic research requirements in various spheres relevant to farm power, an official release issued here today said.

The MoU was signed by Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering (PAU) V.K. Sehgal and Chief Operating Officer, TAFE G. Hari.

TAFE plans to establish collaborative training facilities to help students in skill-enhancement. Moreover, company engineers and executives would share the research know-how with the department of Farm Power and Machinery of PAU, it said.

The collaborative programme also envisages training of students at TAFE premises. The agreement also includes joint programmes for graduate and post-graduate students. -- PTI
