Lova temple to get face-lift

Kakinada: The age old temple of Goddess Thalapula Amma, popularly known as Thalupulamma, situated in a valley near Tuni town will be getting a face lift shortly at a cost of Rs.88 lakhs, according to G.V.V. Satyanarayana Murthy Assistant Commissioner of Endowments and also the temple executive officer.

He said the steps to the hill temple would be further extended from the existing 670 metres to another 230 metres stretch for the convenience of the devotees. The devotees now can easily trek up to the Lord Siva statue up hills. The developmental works slated for execution, he said, include construction of 18 new cottages, cement concrete link roads, drains, and cooking platforms besides taking up repairs to the existing 72 cottages. He said the Annavaram Devasthanam had agreed to operate a bus for the convenience of the devotees, daily between Annavaram and Thalupulamma Lova.
