Advani, Modi effigies burnt

VILLUPURAM: Two activists of the ‘Vivasaya Viduthalai Munnani’ were arrested at Ulundurpet near here on Tuesday on charges of burning the effigies of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha L.K. Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The duo raised slogans against the leaders whose “roles in the Gujarat riots were exposed through a sting operation carried out by a private channel.”

The arrested have been identified as Velmurugan (24) of Pali and Anandan (35) of Eraiyur.
