PUDUKOTTAI: Minister for Social Welfare Poongothai Aladi Aruna on Tuesday said that the State Government had enhanced the annual allocation for the social welfare schemes during the last two years.
Addressing presspersons after reviewing various schemes being implemented by Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Department and under Integrated Child Development Scheme in the district, she said that the Government had allotted Rs. 1,500 crore for noon-meal scheme against just Rs. 636 crores during the previous rule.
She also said that the allocation for the marriage assistances had been increased from Rs. 100 crore last year to Rs. 140 crore this year.
