PUDUKOTTAI: Members of Pudukottai district unit of Tamil Nadu Government Employees’ Association went on a day’s token strike on Tuesday in support of their 12-point charter of demands.
Their demands included the withdrawal of the New Pension Policy; enactment of the right to strike; and payment of interim relief of Rs. 1,000 till the recommendations of the Pay Commission are implemented.
The members of the Federation of the Central and State Government Employees and School and College Teachers’ Associations; and the Joint Action Council of the Postal and RMS Employees Union expressed their moral support to the striking employees. They staged an agitation for a while in front of the Public Office here .
