Thiruvananthapuram: CPI leaders have brought to the notice of the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel, the difficulties faced by passengers using the Karipur airport. They urged him to convene an urgent meeting to discuss the issues. K.E. Ismail and Pannian Ravindran, MPs, and Rahmathulla said in a joint letter addressed to the Union Minister that rescheduling or cancellation of flights were causing inconvenience to passengers to the Middle East. No substitute arrangements were made when flights were cancelled, they said in the letter. They asked the Minister to allot two spare aircraft to overcome the problem. They wanted more flights to be operated from Karipur to the Middle East countries.
