NSTL products for Navy ready

VISAKHAPATNAM: Warship technology products developed by the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) will be handed over to the Indian Navy on Wednesday.

A. Sivathanu Pillai, distinguished scientist and Chief Controller and (R&D), Defence Research and Development Organisation, will hand over the products to D.S.P. Varma, Chief of Materials, the Naval Headquarters.

According to NSTL Director V. Bhujanga Rao, the laboratory is involved in development of warship technologies useful for evading detection by enemy ships and submarines.

The technologies are meant for use in warships under design and construction. NSTL that nurtured the technologies is progressing towards self-reliance in the critical arena.

An inter-disciplinary and holistic approach covering different aspects have been adapted in developing the technologies.
