Five trains cancelled

HYDERABAD: Five trains were fully cancelled on Tuesday due to heavy rain and water-logging on the Gudur - Vijayawada section of the South Central Railway (SCR).

They include nos. 2711/12 Vijayawada - Chennai Central - Vijayawada Pinakini Express, No. 6093 Chennai Central - Lucknow Express, No. 2839 Howrah - Chennai Central Mail and No. 439 Tirupati - Guntur passenger. Two more trains (Nos. 7405/06 Tirupati - Nizamabad - Tirupati Krishna Express) were partially cancelled between Tirupati and Vijayawada, while No. 433 Yeshvantpur - Guntur passenger that left on Tuesday was run up to Dharmavaram, with the run beyond to Guntur cancelled. Train No. 2295 Bangalore - Patna Sangamitra Express that left Bangalore on Tuesday was diverted via Dharmavaram, Gooty, Guntakal, Halkatta, Sec-bad and Balharshah. Similarly No. 2846 Yesvant-Bhubaneswar Express that left on Tuesday was also diverted via Dharmavaram, Gooty, Dhone, Guntur and Vijayawada.
