Mr. Harold Macmillan, the British Prime Minister, told the House of Commons on October 29 in London that the main purpose of the declaration he signed with President Eisenhower after last week’s Washington talks was to “establish the principle of the interdependence of the countries of the free world.” He said the principle would guide the American and British public. “We shall seek to secure the participation of all our allies and the support of other free nations in a common partnership. Thereby the resources of the free world can most effectively be used in the maintenance of the interests of all.”
