dated October 31, 1957: Col. Nayudu’s advice

Col. C.K. Nayudu, who is touring Kerala in connection with the Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur coaching scheme, was accorded a reception at the Tellicherry Maidan on October 29, with Mr. A.K. Kunhikannan Nambiar, Revenue Divisional Officer and patron of the Town Cricket Club, presiding. Col. Nayudu commended the century-old cricket history of the town and said that a hundred years constituted a big time and it interested him much to hear of their efforts to build up cricket through the years. They had an ideal cricket ground and he hoped that cricketers would utilise it to their full advantage. As in everything else, in cricket also quality was of more value than quantity, he added.
