Amara Raja Q2 net profit up 62 p.c.

CHENNAI: Amara Raja Batteries has reported a 94 per cent rise in its net sales at Rs. 256.17 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 132.02 crore in the year-ago period. The net profit has increased by 62 per cent to Rs. 20.62 crore from Rs. 12.71 crore. The growth has been led by good demand from telecom, UPS and after market segments, according to Jayadev Galla, Managing Director of the company. — Corporate Reporter
