BEIJING: Senior envoys of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States taking part in the six-party talks arrived here on Tuesday for consultations on the disablement of the DPRK’s nuclear facilities. Kim Gye Gwan, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, arrived in Beijing in the morning. The U.S. envoy, Christopher Hill, arrived in the afternoon. Mr. Hill said he was on a round of consultations in the region, during which he would also visit the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan. During his stay in Beijing, Mr. Hill said he would meet Mr. Kim on Thursday. Mr. Hill said he would discuss plans for disabling the DPRK’s nuclear facilities and the measures that the United States was going to take. “We are beyond the issue that as I described a month ago that we want to do more and they want to do less, we are O.K. on that point”, Mr. Hill said. The six-party talks aimed at resolving the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, involve China, the DPRK, the United States, South Korea, Russia and Japan. — Xinhua
