KOCHI: State junior player Rajilal hit a sparkling century (109, 77b, 12x4, 4x6) as Globstar Telecom (Aluva) defeated TCA (Kayamkulam) by 89 runs to enter the first phase quarterfinal of the 57th Cordiant Pooja all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Tuesday. The scores: Globstar Telecom 249 in 40 overs (Rajilal 109, Jins K. George three for 45) bt TCA 160 in 31.5 overs (Jithin three for 21). In the semifinal, Thiruvananthapuram defeated Palakkad by 29 runs and will meet the winner of the second semifinal between Kollam and Thrissur. Kollam overcame Kannur by 14 runs while Kozhikode defeated Thrissur by 32 runs. The scores: Semifinal: Thiruvananthapuram 69 for four in 15 overs (Asha 39) bt Palakkad 40 for six in 15 overs (Ashwathymol three for 14). Quarterfinals: Kollam 82 for four in 15 overs (Jincy 37) bt Kannur 68 for six in 15 overs (Jincy three for 13).
