BHUBANESWAR: After continuing its off-and-on publication for 15 years, popular Oriya literary magazine ‘Chitra,’ published and edited by young woman writer Ratnamala Swain, will appear as a monthly from January next year. Much to the cheer of the gathering of a number of writers and editors of Oriya magazines, Ratnamala announced this during the magazine’s meet for release of its puja special number in a city hotel here. Writer-publisher Saroj Bal is executive editor. “The thrust of the magazine will be on creative writing. However, with a team of young and talented writers, we will also have equal emphasis on features on Oriya culture,” the publisher pointed out.
