TIRUCHI: The online system for filing petitions would come into operation in the district from November 1, Collector Ashish Vachhani has said. Residents can file petitions online from anywhere and also keep track of the action taken on their representations through the system, designed and developed by the State unit of the National Informatics Centre (NIC). Petitions of any kind including that of ration cards/welfare assistance can be filed online on the web address http://trichygdp.tn.nic.in/ online Petitioners will be required to give their personal particulars and an identity proof by way of serial numbers in the ration cards/electors’ photo identity cards/driving licences/ATM cards or other identification cards. On registration, the system will generate an acknowledgement slip with a number, which can be printed and kept by the petitioners for future reference. Petitions can be filed by individuals, groups or organisations. The status of petitions can be viewed by giving the acknowledgement number. Those without Internet access can register the petitions online through the Grievance Petition Cell at the Collectorate, Mr. Vachhani said.
