KARIMNAGAR: Government Whip D. Sridhar Babu has charged Telugu Desam Party president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu with making false allegations against the Congress Government like a ‘gulli’ leader to attain power by ‘hook or crook’. “The TDP president should do self-introspection about how he had deceived people of the State by doing away with the Rs. 2-a-kg rice scheme, total prohibition, removal of ration cards and pensioners on the diktats of the World Bank,” he said. He also reminded that the TDP had failed to provide minimum support price to the farmers’ produce during their regime. Crocodile tearsAddressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Sridhar ridiculed the TDP road shows in the district for gaining mileage by shedding crocodile tears for the welfare of farmers. He said Mr. Naidu had no right to talk about the welfare of farmers and weavers when he failed to rescue them during his nine-year regime. He alleged that the TDP chief was desperate and unable to digest the development of the State under the leadership of Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
