Four injured by Blueline

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Bluelines continue to wreak havoc on the Capital’s roads with another bus on Tuesday injuring three children and a young woman in New Friends Colony here. One of the victims is stated to be in a serious condition.

The accident took place around 3-45 p.m. when the bus plying on route 469 -- Anand Vihar to Ambedkar Nagar -- hit a cyclist and then ploughed into a group waiting at the bus stop under the Modi Mill flyover. While the cyclist escaped unhurt, three children and a young woman sustained injuries and were taken to Apollo Hospital. The bus driver fled abandoning the vehicle on the spot.

Discharged

The woman, identified as Mansi (22), was discharged after treatment. She told the police that she was waiting for a bus to Faridabad when the speeding Blueline hit her. The other injured were identified as Manu Gupta (15), Samarjeet (15) and Satbir (15). While Samarjeet, a resident of Sarita Vihar, was discharged in the evening, Manu is stated to be critical. Manu and Satbir both are residents of Madanpur Khadar in Badarpur.

The children were on their way back home from their schools in Sarojini Nagar when the accident took place.
