Two dozen children rescued by NGO

NEW DELHI: About two dozen children working in embroidery units at Shahpur Jat here were rescued by a non-government organisation on Tuesday. However, the NGO did not lodge any complaint with the police against the unit owners.

According to the police, the NGO contacted them seeking help in conducting a raid to rescue the children. Accordingly, the police accompanied the NGO workers to the embroidery units. After taking the children into their custody, a senior police officer said, the NGO said it will lodge a complaint against the unit owners on Wednesday.

On Monday, another NGO had rescued 14 children from Shahpur Jat.
