Auto driver robbed of vehicle, cash Crime notes

BANGALORE: An armed gang robbed autorickshaw driver Gangadharaiah and his two friends of their mobile phones and cash on Kanakapura Road on Monday night. The robbers later sped away in Gangadharaiah’s autorickshaw. The police said that around 9.30 p.m., Gangadharaiah of Papareddypalya and his friends were returning to the city from Tataguni village after a dinner. Four men stopped the autorickshaw on Kanakapura Road and sought a lift to Kengeri. After reaching a secluded area near Anepalya, the four men threatened the driver and his friends with choppers and relieved them of two mobile phones and Rs. 200 cash. After a scuffle, the four sped away in the autorickshaw.
A case has been registered.
