BSNL pensioners stage demonstration

About 100 BSNL retired employees on Tuesday staged a demonstration before the office of the Chief General Manager, Tamilnadu Telecom Circle, Anna Salai, demanding withdrawal of the new pension scheme.

Under the new scheme, some of the pension funds can be invested in the stock market. Participants expressed apprehensions that the scheme would be extended to present pensioners and appealed to State Governments to withdraw the scheme.
