VISAKHAPATNAM: Two young girls have entered into wedlock on the city outskirts saying they wanted to lead a happy life in the company of each other.
Though the marriage was performed in front of a select group of friends and relatives near Sabbavaram during Dasara, it came to light only on Tuesday. Laxmi (Bujji) and Ramana Kumari, both aged 19 were good friends for several years and had spent their childhood together.
Laxmi said she was leading a solitary life after her husband deserted her sometime ago. Both of them are poor and eke out a living by working as daily-wage workers.
“With our marriage, we can have better company now,” Laxmi told reporters.
