Breach Candy offers to treat conjoined twins

HYDERABAD: The Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai has come forward to take up the surgery of conjoined twins – Veena and Vani.

The Hospital Trust sent a letter to the Niloufer Hospital, where the girls were admitted, stating that an operation would be performed in Mumbai with the acceptance of parents. It also sought the medical report to evaluate the condition of the twins, said A. Bharathi Reddy, Head of Paediatric Surgery, Niloufer Hospital, on Tuesday. The 4-year-old sisters joined at the head, known as ‘Craniopagus’ in the medical parlance, have been in the hospital for last one year awaiting a separation surgery.
