“Mandapam alignment only feasible route”

MADURAI: The alignment cutting through the land mass of the portion projecting out of Mandapam is the “only route or alignment that is now feasible” for the Sethusamudram Ship Channel project, president of the Janata Party Subramanian Swamy said here on Tuesday.

“If the Government is not agreeable to that alignment for any reason, then it is better to scrap the project,” he said in a statement. Dr. Swamy said he would meet the Committee of Eminent Persons on Sethusamudram Channel Project on October 31.
