Manmohan’s remarks realistic: CPI
New Delhi: The Communist Party of India on Tuesday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s remarks on evolving a national consensus on the India-U.S. nuclear deal looked like a “realistic one,” while the BJP said the contours of his statement were not clear.
“It seems to be a more realistic statement,” CPI general secretary A.B. Bardhan told PTI here.
The main Opposition BJP, however, was not impressed with the Prime Minister’s statement, saying that it was not clear what he meant by evolving a broad-based “national consensus.”
“We don’t know the boundaries of the broad national consensus that he was talking about. We also don’t know who is included and who is not. His world vision is limited to the UPA-Left only,” party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told PTI. — PTI
