Good haul by India

NEW DELHI: The Indian sub-junior weightlifters won 13 gold, four silver and two bronze medals at the Asian weightlifting championship in Amman.

According to information reaching here, B. Usha, Ravi Maheshwari, G. Aruna Rani and P. Kom won three gold medals each in their respective weight categories in snatch, clean and jerk and total.

Srishti Singh, Sumit Wadar and Mamta Kutiyal were the other medal winners for India. At the 2005 championship in Tashkent, India had won three gold, six silver and six bronze medals. — Principal Correspondent
