Amritsar: The man allegedly involved in the murder of a Dalit boy which led to violent protest in the city, has surrendered, the police said on Wednesday. Harinder Singh Gill -- who allegedly gunned down one Shanker Das after the two had a verbal dispute over a petty issue on the night of October 25 -- was absconding since the incidence took place. The police had been conducting raids at different places including Chandigarh and Delhi, SSP Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh said The accused – a relative of the sitting Akali MLA from Amritsar north Assembly constituency Raminder Singh Boloria -- had been involved in cases of murder and attempt to murder. He has been acquitted in most of the cases, the SSP said. PTI
