Students warn of stir

MALAPPURAM: A joint body of student organisations claimed here on Wednesday that the government was forced to sanction additional Plus-Two batches for Malappuram district as a result of the student protest. Even when welcoming the government move, the student leaders said that it was a mere ploy to cool the nerves of the protesters.

What the government allotted was insufficient for the students, they said. The student leaders warned that their agitation would continue until a solution was found to the problems of higher education faced by Malabar, particularly Malappuram district.
