BHUBANESWAR: Stage is set for students to erupt to loads of cultural shows and intellectual stimulations on campus of the leading B-school Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), with four-day-long annual festival, Xpressions-2007, getting underway here from Thursday. For Xpressions’07, which is said to be one of the largest B-School fests of eastern India, several educative events have been customised into fun-filled competitions that would cover business simulation games, communication development programmes, spreading awareness among undergraduates regarding MBA and paper presentations. Competitions have been christened into different segments such as Gladiator, SilkCity, Kurukshetra, Dalal Street, Xquizzite, Fourth Estate, Helios and Ananya. Acumen, attitude and zest will be put to the toughest test in the game, Gladiator, which has the sole objective to identify the one individual who can do it all and beat the best at their own game. The winner would lay hand on handsome prize money of Rs 1,00,000. Similarly, general quiz on topics ranging from science and history to entertainment and sports while the business quiz focusing on brands, corporate trivia and famous management gurus will be on show in Xquizzite. However, the biggest attraction of Xpressions’07 would be live performance of the famous Pakistani band ‘JAL’. CeleblitZ, the grand finale to Xpressions’07 have been previously graced by internationally acclaimed celebrities like Jagjit Singh and rock bands such as Euphoria and Indian Ocean. In Bandwidth segment, Pentagram, rock band, which had performed last year, will rock the floor this time also. Similarly, Decibelz, would epitomise celebration of the spirit of all young hearts of all B-school graduates. Fashion showBut there is more in the schedule. Carnivale de Vogue, the fashion show, would surely see several students, especially girls, walking the ramp. And the winner could walk away with Rs. 40,000.
