MYSORE: Private radio station BIG 92.7 FM has announced the launch of its FM radio services in Mysore from November 1. BIG 92.7 FM, which is the first private radio station to commence its operation in the city, is expected to give Mysoreans not only music, but also regular updates on traffic and weather in Mysore. ‘Utilities’On the eve of the launch, Kamal Mohandas, station head, BIG 92.7 FM, Bangalore, told presspersons here that their programmes would cater to the pre-dominantly Kannada-speaking population in the city. Apart from entertainment programmes, the station had designed “utilities” such traffic and weather updates along with time checks and health tips. Coinciding its launch with Kannada Rajyothsava, the private radio station promises to catapult Mysore into the league of happening cities across India with a variety of programmes that will be broadcast 24 hours a day. In Kannada“Though much of the entertainment will be in Kannada, the station will play one popular Hindi song every hour during music sessions,” said programming head, Bangalore, Sowjanya Kashyap. The commencement of BIG 92.7 FM radio’s services in Mysore marks the launch of its 37th station.
