Invite Yeddyurappa to form government: Nanje Gowda
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: The former Minister, H.N. Nanje Gowda, has urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to invite Bharatiya Janata Party leader B.S. Yeddyurappa to form the Government and thus set a healthy precedent for the community of Governors to follow.
In a letter to the Governor here on Wednesday, Mr. Gowda appreciated the preliminary steps taken in Government formation after the resignation of the H.D. Kumaraswamy Government.
Mr. Gowda said that the Governor has already initiated the process of Government formation by receiving the affidavits from the legislators and thereafter following it up with a head count of the legislators.
“In effect, it is now beyond doubt that you have convinced yourself about the fact of the majority support enjoyed by Mr. Yeddyurappa. The only correct and constitutional option open to you is to recommend to the President to revoke the President’s Rule and revoke the order on keeping the Assembly in suspended animation. Thereafter, it is for you to invite Mr. Yeddyurappa to form the Government,” he said in the letter.
