BELLARY: T. Shivanna, First Additional Judicial Magistrate First Class, Bellary, has sentenced Ravi Belagere, Editor of Hai Bangalore weekly, and Lokesh Koppad, reporter, to six months’ simple imprisonment in connection with a defamation case filed by M. Diwakar Babu, former Minister and Congress leader. Mr. Babu had filed a private criminal complaint against Mr. Belagere and Mr. Koppad for publishing a defamatory article against him in Hai Bangalore dated October 10, 2002 in connection with the murder of Harikrishna, a cable operator. — Staff Correspondent
