Raje promises new package

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said a new package for small-scale and indigenous industries will be adopted in Rajasthan by December, while work on formulating a policy for them had already started.

Inaugurating a “Swadeshi Mela” in Jodhpur on Tuesday, Ms. Raje said the State Government wants to promote small-scale industries to improve the prospects for livelihood in the rural areas. Women entrepreneurs joining the field would be given one per cent rebate in interest on loans, she added.

Ms. Raje said the Government had taken several steps for supporting the handicrafts and khadi sectors such as establishing training centres and providing insurance facility. The State now has 10 rural and two urban Haats and has so far organised as many as 90 fairs and exhibitions displaying a variety of products. BJP president Rajnath Singh attended the function.
