TNAU bags runner-up trophy in all-India youth festival

AGRI WINNERS: A student representative of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University receiving the runner-up prize from S.L. Mehta, Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Udaipur, on behalf of the 25-member team who stood second in the AGRIUNIFEST 2007, at Udaipur recently.
COIMBATORE: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) clinched the second spot in the 9th All India Inter Agricultural University Youth Festival (AGRIUNIFEST) 2007 held at Udaipur recently.
They bagged this position after competing with 31 teams from other agricultural universities at the Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Udaipur.
A team of 25 students and two faculty- P. Murali Arthanari and K. Divya- who served as the team managers, represented the university at the fest.
Debate
The students took part in tiger dance, kummi, karagam, kavadi, silambattam and oyilattam. They also participated in other events such as singing, debate, elocution, extempore, rangoli, quiz, skits, painting, poster making and poster making.
The team emerged as the runner-up as a result of their overall performance. S.L. Mehta, Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Udaipur, gave prizes to the winners.
