VIZIANAGARAM: ‘Teppotsavam’ of Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru was celebrated with gaiety here on Tuesday.
The utsav idol of the goddess was taken in a flower be-decked swan-shaped boat in Pedda Cheruvu near Vanamgudi.
A large number of devotees fired crackers and witnessed the celebrations.
Earlier, the Endowments Department felicitated 50 Veda pundits from East Godavari, Visakhapatam and Vizianagaram districts on the occasion at Veda Sabha held at Vanamgudi.
Assistant Commissioner (Endowments) D. Brahmaramba, temple Executive Officer P.V. Subba Lakshmi, Municipal Chairperson M. Geetha and others were present.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer K.K. Achari made bandobust arrangements at Pedda Cheruvu.
It may be recalled that Sirimanotsavam of the goddess was celebrated on Tuesday last.
