dated November 1, 1957: Nobel Prizes

British scientist Sir Alexander Todd was on October 31 awarded the 1957 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his work on “nucleotides and on nucleotide coenzynes,” which he has been studying for the past 15 years. Two Chinese scientists, now working in the United States, Dr. Tsung Dao Lee and Prof. Chen Ming Yang, were awarded jointly the Nobel Prize for Physics for their profound research into the laws of parity which have led to important discoveries on elementary particles.
