Corrections and clarifications

The seventh paragraph in a report “Virender Sehwag gets the selectors’ nod, Rahul Dravid doesn’t” (“Sport”, October 28, 2007) was: “On Saturday the selectors also hinted a potential end to the one-day career of Rahul Dravid who has scored 20,077 runs for India in 445 matches with 36 centuries, 129 half centuries and held 274 catches.” A reader points out that there was an error in the figure for the catches. The Sports Desk clarifies that Dravid has taken 346 catches and effected 14 stumpings in 445 matches for India (153 catches in 112 Tests; 193 catches and 14 stumpings in 333 ODIs).

A report “Razzaq reverses retirement decision” (“Sport”, October 28, 2007) described Abdul Razzaq as a 26-year-old and credited him with 240 wickets. It was an error. Razzaq is 27 years old and has taken 246 wickets in 231 ODIs. He made his ODI debut in 1996.
