Plea against Lalu in wealth case deferred
Special Correspondent
PATNA: The Patna High Court on Wednesday deferred till November 20 hearing on the Bihar government’s petition challenging the acquittal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi in a disproportionate assets case awaiting the Supreme Court’s ruling.
Justice R.K. Datta accepted the plea for a deferment on the ground that they had challenged before the apex court its order upholding the State government’s right to challenge their acquittal and that the same was scheduled to come up for hearing on November 12.
The Bench, on September 20, upheld the Bihar government’s right and took up its petition for admission, which it has since deferred awaiting the apex court’s ruling.
