NEW DELHI: Reliance Communications (RCom) on Wednesday said its net profit jumped 86 per cent in the quarter ended September 30, 2007, to Rs. 1,305 crore, while its revenue grew by over 30 per cent to Rs. 4,579 crore. The company, which at present provides mobile service on CDMA platform, said it would launch its nationwide GSM mobile services soon.
The company’s return on net worth increased to 37 per cent due to improved resource utilisation, while it maintained its net average revenue per user (ARPU).
Reliance Communications’ Chairman, Anil Ambani, said, “RCom has emerged as the most profitable telecom company in India with ARPU among the top two and the highest average minutes-of-usage (MOU) in the country. We are committed to the world’s largest telecom network roll-out this year that will enable us to cover 23,000 towns and six lakh villages”.
