KOCHI: The 68th all-India inter-university athletic championship, which was allotted to Kerala University a few months ago, has been shifted to Annamalai University and will now be held at Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, from January 13 to 17. The delay in getting Thiruvananthapuram’s University Stadium, where the synthetic track is to be relaid later this year, ready in time for the championship appears to be the reason behind the change. A Tamil Nadu university would be hosting the meet for the second time in three years. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University had conducted the 66th edition in Tirunelveli early last year. Rajilal stars for St. Paul’s CollegeRajilal hit an unbeaten century (113, 43 b, 12x6, 6x4) as St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery, thrashed University College of Engineering (Thodupuzha) by 117 runs and entered the quarterfinals of the Mahatma Gandhi University North Zone inter-collegiate cricket championship at the St. Peter’s College, Kolencherry, on Wednesday. Thiruvananthapuram restricted Kozhikode to 88 in 25 overs and scored the required runs in the 22nd over. The scores: Final: Kozhikode 88 for eight in 25 overs (Rakhi four for 35) lost to Thiruvananthapuram 89 for two in 21.5 overs (Asha 48 n.o.). SZ U-15 inter-State cricket from todayThe South Zone under-15 inter-State cricket tournament will get underway in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
