Kavitha felicitated

CHENNAI: S. Kavitha, the vice-captain of the women’s kabaddi team that won the Asian championship gold medal, was felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at Madurai. The Chief Minister presented Kavitha with an award of Rs. 5 lakh.

Kavitha, who hails from Madurai, works in Tamil Nadu Police, A.P. Range, Madurai camp at Tiruchi. The Indian women’s team had triumphed in the second Asian championship held in Iran in October. — Special Correspondent
