Chinmaya dethrones KE Board’s

HUBLI: Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Hubli) defeated defending champion KE Board’s High School (Dharwad) by 24 runs to win the KSCA’s Dharwad Zone under-13 inter-school cricket tournament at the Karnataka Gymkhana ground here.

In the final match played on Tuesday, Chinmaya scored 204 for five in the stipulated 40 overs with skipper Sounak Biswas contributing 54.

In reply, KE Board’s was dismissed for 180 in 37.5 overs. Captain Samarth Ooty’s 78 was not enough to save the side. Yash Javali took four for 29 for Chinmaya.

M. Parthasarathy, Sports Officer, South Western Railway, gave away the prizes.

The KSCA Dharwad Zone convenor, K. Satish, presided over the award distribution function.

The scores: Chinmaya Vidyalaya 204 for five in 40 overs (Sounak Biswas 54, Atreya Inamdar 39) beat KE Board’s High School 180 in 37.5 overs (Samarth Ooty 78, Hanumanth Mangli 30, Yash Javali four for 29, Atreya Inamdar three for 29).
