The Hindu-Young World painting contest date extended

Thiruvananthapuram: The last date for submitting entries for The Hindu-Young World painting competition, being presented by the Lotte BooProo, has been extended to November 10.

The entries should be on white drawing sheets of 26 x 27 cm size, certified by the art teacher or principal. It should be sent along with two BooProo liquid filled bubble gum mono wrappers to the Regional General Manager, The Hindu, T.C.36/1946(1), Airport Road, Vallakadavu, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 008. The topics for juniors (classes IV to VII) are ‘You and your computer,’ ‘At the swimming pool,’ ‘Visit to a flower garden’ and ‘Kite-flying on the beach.’

The topics for seniors (classes VIII to X) are ‘Boat ride in a river,’ ‘Train crossing a bridge,’ ‘Inside a harbour’ and ‘Helping the physically challenged.’

The entries should also contain the name, age, class and residential address of the student. There is no entry form or fee. The entries will be judged at two levels and the selected students will be intimated individually.

They should come to the venue, the Government Women’s College at Vazhuthacaud in the city with the intimation letter on November 24. The competition will be from 9 to 11 a.m. The prizes will be given away at venue on the same day at 2 p.m. Apart from first, second and third prizes, there will be consolation prizes also. Every prize-winner will get a free gift hamper from the Lotte BooProo. All those who participate in the competition will be given certificates.
