SBT staff go on one-day strike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Branches of the State Bank of Travancore (SBT) did not function on Wednesday in response to a one-day strike called by the Associate Banks’ Officers’ Association (ABOA) in protest against the move on the part of State Bank of India (SBI) to absorb all its associate banks, the ABOA said in a press release.

Clearing house operations and the Government’s transactions with the SBT too were disrupted for the day, the ABOA press release said.
