KANCHEEPURAM: Efforts are being made to make the country a strong knowledge-based nation, according to Union Minister, G. K.Vasan.
Addressing the valedictory of decennial celebrations of Rajalakshmi Engineering College at Thandalam, Mr. Vasan said several schemes had been formulated and implemented by the Union Government for development of education and eradication of illiteracy. Impetus was also being given for formulation of specialised institutions for higher management and professional studies. He called upon the students to follow the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, which would certainly ensure progress in their life and career, according to a release.
Inter-collegiate symposium
Need for sincerity and wholeheartedness was highlighted at a function held at Sakthi Mariamman Engineering College at Thandalam recently.
Addressing the gathering at an inter-collegiate symposium, the vice-president, Human Resources and Training, Sutherland Global Services, S. Sunderraman urged the students to sincerely pursue their career, irrespective of the path they chose. He also released a souvenir.
The founder and chairman, SMEC, K. N. Ramachandran and others participated in the function.
