Policeman arrested

ARUPPUKOTTAI: A police constable, Chandrasekaran, attached to the Aviyur police station was arrested on Thursday for assaulting a man following a wordy duel here.

The police said that the constable picked up a quarrel with M. Mariselvan at a hotel on Wednesday.

He suddenly attacked him with an iron rod.

Based on a complaint preferred by the injured, the constable was arrested.
