Children’s parliament at Vadakara

KOZHIKODE: The Kudumbasree Mission in the district will organise a children’s parliament at Vadakara here to familiarise children with the basics of the functioning of parliamentary democracy and development issues.

This is the second time that the mission, as part of the Balasabha initiative, is organising such an event. The Finance Minister will declare the parliamentary deliberations open on Saturday. K.P. Kunahmmed Kutty, district panchayat president, and T.P. Chandran, Vadakara municipal chairman, will be present. Twenty grama panchayats in the district have been selected as Balasabha panchayats. Nearly 100 select children from the panchayats will participate in the deliberations providing an occasion for the public to gauge the versatility of child parliamentarians.
